Sue Laidlaw, senior partner and founder

Sue spent 10 years teaching in both the state and the independent sector, culminating in several significant senior management roles. She founded Laidlaw Education in 1992 and continues to head the team. She is director of education for the Junior Tennis Foundation and FC** Tennis Academy at Dukes Meadows. She was education consultant for Archant Good Schools Show, in addition to writing monthly articles for Archant’s School Report.

Besides enjoying family life, her hobbies include an enthusiasm for opera, ballet, film and literature. She loves visiting art galleries, constantly tries to follow a better exercise regime and has a long ‘to do’ list of hobbies and interests to pursue more fully in the future!

Victoria Webb, Senior Partner

Victoria graduated from Exeter University and initially spent 10 years working in brand marketing at SC Johnson and United Biscuits specialising in new product development. She spent five years abroad in Geneva and Dublin, returning to London in 2001, gaining first-hand experience of relocating with a family and sorting out schools. Victoria’s four children all attended a local primary school and then four different independent schools. Victoria joined Sue Laidlaw in 2002 and together they formed Laidlaw Education Group LLP in 2007.

Victoria has extensive knowledge of the schools in our area and spends much of her time advising parents on how to navigate the entrance exam system.

Susan Wharton, Finance Manager

Susan graduated from Exeter University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Initially she trained in audit then spent 12 years specialising in expatriate tax, dealing with the US and UK tax affairs of senior executives relocating to work in the UK for large global employers. She gave that up before the birth of her third and fourth children (twins!) in 2003, and came to work for Laidlaw Education in 2008 when her twin boys started school. Susan’s four children all attended a state primary school, and have also gone on to attend four different local independent schools.

Ginny Waterkeyn, Office Manager

After a one year private secretary’s course, Ginny spent four years at the University of London (Goldsmiths) where she read French and Drama. Having graduated with a BA Hons, she started working in marketing and in 1984 joined Crabtree and Evelyn where she worked in the export department, becoming export marketing manager and travelling widely. She stopped working just before the birth of her first child. After bringing up her three boys she was ready to return to work and joined Laidlaw Education on a part-time basis in 2005. Her children attended a local primary school followed by an independent secondary school.
